The intention of the Satya Bharti School Program is to constantly invent new techniques, methodologies and processes that will make the teaching-learning process at the Satya Bharti Schools geared towards holistic development of the underprivileged children in the rural pockets of India.

Physical Education in Curriculum (PEC)
Introduced in all Satya Bharti Schools in July 2010, the Physical Education in Curriculum (PEC) provides structured age -appropriate games and activities to aid holistic development of children. Linked to the mainstream curriculum, it allows children with high kinesthetic intelligence an opportunity to meaningfully engage in the teaching-learning process. The program offers a definite structure in which physical education classes can be conducted and how it can aid the physical and cognitive development of children.

The PEC Program is conducted through a PEC kit comprising of around 200 cards which have the details of a game, the learning expected from it and its curricular connection, alongside safety measures. These bilingual cards are connected to the English, Mathematics and Environmental Studies curriculum and are designed for children to enjoy structured physical activities and learn various subject skills during the games period.

Interactive Radio Instruction Program (IRI)
Known as the Interactive Audio Instruction Program at the Satya Bharti Schools, the IRI is one of the many examples of use of technology and ICT-based interventions adopted by Bharti Foundation to improve the quality of English education in the primary classes. Its introduction across Satya Bharti Schools has given a major boost to the children’s and also the teachers’ ability and confidence to speak in English.

Building As Learning Aids – BALA
The Satya Bharti Schools have incorporated the BALA concept of using the school building as a learning aid in itself. The integration of this technique ensures that with multiple exposures to these inbuilt teaching-learning aids, children subconsciously inherit these concepts and remember them in the long run.

In the primary and senior secondary schools, certain features have been incorporated, like ready-to-use Abacus Kits have been made available by installing beads in window grills, fractal tiles have been used to help children understand fractions and shapes and height charts have been painted on the school walls to enable children to learn to read their own height and also sharpen their mathematical skills. Other features include black paint on classroom walls up to three feet in height that serve as mini-blackboards for students, school maps and distance markers on the floors.

Some features are characteristic to the senior schools like mathematical tables and alphabets on staircase risers, vermin-culture pits, etc.

Green Efforts
The senior secondary schools have undertaken ‘green efforts’ steps to make the school buildings environment friendly, such as minimizing resource consumption, waste generation etc. Trees are being planted in the schools on a regular basis.

The indoor spaces have been planned with adequate light and ventilation and only 28W energy efficient tube lights are being used to save electricity consumption and waste water is being diverted to the kitchen garden.
