| How We Operate |
|
|
| Two-shift Schools |
The Satya Bharti Schools follow a two-shift system, keeping in mind maximum utilization of all facilities available at the school. The schedule is designed in a manner where classrooms, teachers and other facilities are utilized by all students in a given period of time, so as to increase the efficiency of the system with minimum infrastructural costs.
The Primary schools have classes from Pre-Primary to Class V and require a total of six classrooms to accommodate all students at one time. However, each Satya Bharti School building has a minimum set of three classrooms and one teacher per class of 35 students. Hence, the schools are run in two shifts to ensure that all students have a designated classroom and are not put up in make-shift classrooms. The shift system also allows for individual attention given to all children and optimum use of infrastructure and various TLMs (Teaching- Learning Materials) used in classroom interactions.

| Mid-day Meal |
The Mid-day meal is an important constituent of the Satya Bharti School Program. Students are provided with wholesome nutritious mid-day meal on a daily basis. The mid-day meal program has been designed keeping in mind the requirements of the children at our schools.
The mid-day meal served at every Satya Bharti School is provided free of cost to every student enrolled in our schools. Planned in consultation with a trained nutritionist, the mid-day meals are prepared, keeping in mind its nutritional value and also adherence to local tastes. With the mothers of students as mid-day meal vendors, it is ensured that the food being served is of the best quality available locally. Students are also taught basic hygiene factors like washing of hands and utensils as part of the mid-day meal exercise. Students’ feedback is also taken at regular intervals to ensure that they enjoy eating what is being served at the schools.

| A Robust Organization Structure |
At the onset of the Satya Bharti School Program, the organizational structure was fairly linear and comprised of the Head Office, State Offices, and District Offices under whom School and Academic Coordinators supervised administrative and pedagogical aspects respectively.
With the expansion of the program over the last year, the organizational structure of Bharti Foundation has also been modified accordingly. This ensures that teams at the grassroots are fully empowered and equipped to ensure and provide quality education to the children studying in our schools under the over all guidance of the head office
At School level Each school has a Head Teacher and a class teacher for each class. Schools also have a school guardian who looks after the security and safety of both the school and the children.
At Cluster level Each cluster of schools is headed by a Cluster Coordinator who is responsible for the quality of education and over all functioning of the schools under his supervision. He is supported by a team of mobile teachers who are substitutes for absent teachers and attend to weaker students in the cluster
At State and District level The state office is headed by a State Head. It represents all the critical functions such as Finance, HR, Training and Quality and providing support at the implementation level. The State team, consisting of State Heads, Program Coordinators, District Coordinators and Cluster Coordinators directly deal with the day to day operational implementation of the program. In order to ensure single ownership in the monitoring of school progress, the roles of School Coordinator and Academic Coordinator have been merged into the role of a Cluster Coordinator with emphasis on pedagogical monitoring.
