| November 2009- Hon’ble Union Minister of Finance Mr. Pranab Mukherjee laid the foundation stone for the Satya Bharti School in Murshidabad West Bengal |
The Hon’ble Union Minister of Finance, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee unveiled the initiative and laid the foundation stone for the Satya Bharti School in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Mr. Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Bharti Enterprises and Mr. Vijay Chadda, CEO, Bharti Foundation, were also present at the event.
The Satya Bharti School program aims to provide free quality education to underprivileged children in rural India. The Foundation will set up a total of 10 Satya Bharti Primary Schools in West Bengal that will reach out to over 2100 children and employ 60 teachers, recruited from the local communities, with a focus on women teachers.
On the occasion Mr. Rakesh Bharti Mittal said, “The Satya Bharti School Program aims to address the need for quality education in rural India and help underprivileged children reach beyond their limited means to participate in the country’s growth story. We hope that our initiative in West Bengal will benefit thousands of underprivileged children and help them realize their true potential.” |
