Bharti Foundation supporting "Girl Child Education" at ADHM 2010

Bharti Foundation - Supporting “Girl Child Education” at the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2010

Bharti Foundation aims “to help underprivileged children and young people of the country realize their potential.” Promoting ‘Girl Child Education’ as the theme at ADHM 2010, the Foundation garnered the support of more than 950 people to run for the cause this year. This large contingent comprised of 27 Corporate Houses running as Corporate Challenge Teams and Dream Makers, teachers from the Satya Bharti Schools and employees of the Foundation and the Bharti Group.  Some of the corporates running for Bharti Foundation included Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., IBM India Pvt. Ltd., Schmid Telecom India Pvt. Ltd.

As a prelude to the main event Bharti Foundation also organized an interactive session for its Satya Bharti School students with Bipasha Basu, the Face of ADHM 2010 and a superstar in her own right. The gleaming children for whom it was a dream come true to meet the star, were surprised when Bipasha joined them for a chat session, sharing her thoughts on her school days and motivating them to study hard to achieve their dreams.

Speaking at the event Mr. Vijay Chadda, CEO, Bharti Foundation said “Today, the world over, marathons have become prominent platforms for people to support a charity of their choice .  The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon is one such event where every year corporates turn up in large numbers to espouse a social cause. This is the third time that Bharti Foundation is participating at the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon and has received enormous support from its corporate partners and individual supporters for the Satya Bharti School Program initiative. Events like these also provide our students of the Satya Bharti Schools an opportunity to meet and interact with people who have carved a niche for themselves, inspiring them to achieve their dreams."
