| | Airtel launches Girl child education awareness campaign in partnership with Bharti Foundation’s Satya Bharti School Program | ‘Mobile puppet show vans’ travel across Rajasthan creating awareness on girl child education and prevention of child marriage. | Bharti Airtel recently launched an awareness campaign on girl child education and prevention of child marriage at the Satya Bharti School in Lavana, Amer. The awareness campaign, directed towards promoting girl child education and prevention of child marriage, comprises of mobile vans with puppet shows that will travel across the villages of Rajasthan, educating people on the issue. Three mobile puppet show vans were flagged off at the event by Mr. Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Bharti Enterprises, Mr. Sudipto Chowdhury CEO-Rajasthan, Mobile Services, Bharti airtel and Mr. Vijay Chadda, CEO, Bharti Foundation.
The Satya Bharti School Program lays emphasis on girl child education at the schools. Special policies and campaigns have been formulated to encourage girls to attend school. Of the 12,000 students enrolled at the 78 Satya Bharti Schools in Rajasthan, 51% students are girls. However, there is a constant need to urge parents to send their daughters to school in the rural parts of the state.
The mobile puppet vans, launched by Bharti Airtel Ltd. will act as as platforms for promoting Girl Child Education through puppet shows. Puppet shows are a popular medium of communication in villages because it provides information bundled with entertainment.
