| November 2007: Airtel Management Board visits Satya Bharti Schools |
After gruelling sessions at work and long unending hours of meetings at office, it was time for the Airtel Management Board to have a Bosses Day Out. And they did it with great élan, spreading their arms and opening their hearts to the children in the Satya Bharti School in Ladhowal, Ludhiana.
Travelling from Delhi, the AMB team forgot their fatigue and transformed into complete teachers for all the children in the school. From sharing stories with them to playing games and even giving them some pearls of wisdom, the AMB members had a wonderful time there. “Interacting with the children and seeing the joy it gave them reminded me of the more important things in life”, said Mr. Sanjeev Duggal. “The children were lovely”, said Ms. Carol Borghesi, “eager to learn, very polite and well behaved”.
The teaching session did not deter the team from trying out something that was a little further detached from their profession- construction! Yes! Every single member of the AMB team lent their hands to lay some stones of a Satya Bharti School that was under construction. And their expertise and eagerness in the work could have made the construction workers skip a heartbeat. Not to be held back by this arduous task, Mr. Sarvajit Singh Dhillon even went a step further and said “(if we are) working on a school construction, it must at least be for the day” and not for the little time that they spent there. For others who were present there, the enthusiasm and the eagerness of the AMB team was heartwarming to see. After all, it’s not everyday that the Bosses also have a day out! |
